Location of Mahogany Springs

Set back on the pristine waters of the Munyanga River and facing Bwindi Impenetrable forest the natural setting of Mahogany Springs is beyond imagination.

The exotic gardens and intricately designed stone pathways leading to the river invite you to explore every corner of this magical place uncovering the various surprises along the way such as the Home grown vegetable garden.

Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is situated in the Virunga Volcanoes mountain range, and is located in southwestern Uganda on the edge of the western Rift Valley. It is one of the most biologically diverse areas on earth, where over half the world’s population of highly endangered Mountain Gorillas live in its jungles. In Rwanda, Volcanoes National Park is a home to these special mountain Gorillas and gorilla trekking in Rwanda is done here

Bwindi provides habitat for some 120 species of mammals, 348 species of birds, 220 species of butterflies, 27 species of frogs, chameleons, geckos and many endangered species. Floristically Bwindi is amongst the most diverse forests in East Africa, with more than 1,000 flowering plant species including 163 species of trees and 104 species of ferns.
