Uganda Gorilla trekking & Lake Bunyonyi Tour via Rwanda - 5 Days

Day 1: Arrival Kigali airport

Arrive at Kanombe (Kigali) airport. Meet and greet before transferring to Kigali City. Overnight and meals at Quite Haven Hotel (Budget facility) (BB)

Day 2: Kigali City Tour-Bwindi National park (Travel Time +4hrs)

Morning head out for a city tour. In the city you’ll be amazed by the splendor of Rwanda a land of “a thousand hills”. The city is very clean and the people are very hospitable and friendly. The first place that travelers visit during the Rwanda city tour is the genocide memorial center; this has information regarding how the genocide began. You will have lunch in Kigali before heading to Uganda. Drive off in to Uganda to Bwindi Forest national park. Arriving the evening for relaxation and sightseeing. Overnight and meals Dinner and overnight stay at Gorilla Valley Lodge (Budget facility) Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 3: Bwindi Gorilla Trekking

Begin the day with breakfast ready for trekking, which begins at 8:00 am with a briefing from the UWA staff. Ensure to carry along with you rain jacket, drinking water, snacks, jungle boots etc The guides will lead you inside the jungle to see the shy Primates for a group you have been booked for. Do not forget to take your lunch boxes and all the necessary gear to track the rare Mountain Gorilla, perhaps one of the most exciting wildlife experiences on earth. The tracking may take between 2 and 6 hours but it’s well worth the effort. The afternoon is spent on a village walk. The Village Walk gives you a great opportunity to see how the people surrounding Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.  It also is a great way to support the local community in a direct way.  The Walk begins with your guide at Rest Camp and is most informative, rewarding to the average visitor. It will amaze you how resourceful the local people are as you see and learn their ways. Dinner and overnight stay at Gorilla Valley Lodge (Budget facility) Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 3: Bwindi-Lake Bunyonyi (Travel Time +2hrs)

After an early breakfast transfer to Lake Bunyonyi in Kabale. Afternoon sightseeing and relaxation at your Lodge. Overnight stay at Crater bay Cottages (Budget facility) Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 4: Lake Bunyonyi

Morning community walk to visit the Batwa community with a boat ride along Lake Bunyonyi for an ample birding experience. The idea is to relax and refresh from the hard Gorilla adventure. Overnight stay at Crater bay Cottages (Budget facility) Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 5: Lake Bunyonyi- Kampala (Travel Time +7hrs)

After your morning breakfast, drive back to Kampala with lunch enroute thereafter continue to Kampala or Entebbe for your outgoing flight back home or to your nest destination Meal Plan B-L End of Service

Information Note for Passengers Departing from Rwanda.

  • Travelers should monitor for MVD symptoms, including fever, severe headaches, muscle aches, vomiting, and diarrhea, before departing from Rwanda and seek medical advice immediately if they experience these symptoms.
  • Expect routine temperature checks using Thermo-Scan Cameras and the use of hand sanitizing stations.
  • All passengers exiting the country will be asked to answer a short symptom-screening questionnaire with RBC staff to ensure their well-being and the safety of others. Alternatively, passengers can complete a declaration form here, download the QR code, and present it upon arrival at the airport.
