8 Days Uganda Gorilla Trekking Safari & Hiking Mount Sabinyo

Day 1: Arrival Entebbe Airport-Kampala

Upon arrival at the airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our guide who will then take you to or Cassia Lodge (Mid range) for an overnight and dinner. Meal plan Dinner

Day 2: Kampala-Kibale National Park

Leave Kampala after breakfast for the fascinating drive through papyrus swamps and thick jungle of the Nile Delta to Kibale National Park just under the Ruwenzori Mountains. Afternoon guided walk in the crater lakes area of the park for outstanding cultural visit. Meals and over night at Primate Lodge-Forest Cottage (Mid Lodge). Meal plan: (B, L, D)

Day 3: Chimpanzee Trekking Kibale Forest National Park-Bwindi (Ruhija Section)

Half day search of chimpanzee and 10 other primate including phoestes, red Colobus, blues, and red tailed and grey cheeked mangabey. The guide will provide detailed explanations, not only on primates, but also on all the forest fauna and flora and will ensure that your walk is both informative and enjoyable. This walk is excellent for viewing bird life and seeing primates at close quarters. After lunch, proceed to Bwindi via Queen Elizabeth National Park and here you may spot many wildlife including Elephants, Buffaloes, among others. This is the lushest highland rain forest on earth, filled with primates and exotic birds, valleys, hilltops and papyrus swamps. Day 4: Bwindi Gorilla Trekking

Begin the day with breakfast ready for trekking, which begins at 8:00 am with a briefing from the UWA staff. Ensure to carry along with you rain jacket, drinking water, snacks, jungle boots etc The guides will lead you inside the jungle to see the shy Primates for a group you have been booked for. Do not forget to take your lunch boxes and all the necessary gear to track the rare Mountain Gorilla, perhaps one of the most exciting wildlife experiences on earth. The tracking may take between 2 and 6 hours but its well worth the effort. The afternoon is spent on a village walk. The Buhoma Village Walk gives you a great opportunity to see how the people surrounding Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. It also is a great way to support the local community in a direct way. The Walk begins with your guide at Buhoma Community Rest Camp and is most informative, rewarding to the average visitor. It will amaze you how resourceful the local people are as you see and learn their ways. Dinner and overnight stay at Sliver back Lodge/Chameleon Hill Lodge (Mid range) Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 5: Bwindi –Mgahinga National Park

Morning drive at your convenience through Lake Bunyonyi to Kisoro. You may choose to have the afternoon coffee tour or sightseeing a round Kisoro Town. Dinner and overnight stay at Traveler Rest Hotel (Mid range) Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 6: Sabinyo Volcano Hike

Today is dedicated for a Volcano Hike. This takes around six hours to ascend and descend Mountt Sabinyo topped by a swamp-filled crater and giant lobelia. Lucky climbers may spot golden monkeys on their way through the bamboo forest. Mt Sabinyo is one of the numerous rolling volcanoes that make up the magnificent Virunga mountain range that spans along the borders of Rwanda, Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. While the other volcanoes either lie in one of the countries or are shared between two countries, Mt. Sabinyo lies at the meeting point of the all the three borders. It is more like the axis of the Virunga range and offers the best views across the Virungas, you could call it a 360 degree experience! Return and overnight at Kisoro Travelers Hotel Kisoro (Mid facility) Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 7: Kisoro –Kigali Rwanda

Today is dedicated for a transfer in to Rwanda Kigali. Time permitting; you will have your Kigali city trip including the Genocide Memorial centre at Gisozi. Overnight and meals at Hotel Chezlando (Mid facility) Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 8: Kigali Airport drop out

Morning is dedicated for a transfer to the Airport for your departure. (B) End of service

Information Note for Passengers Departing from Rwanda.

  • Travelers should monitor for MVD symptoms, including fever, severe headaches, muscle aches, vomiting, and diarrhea, before departing from Rwanda and seek medical advice immediately if they experience these symptoms.
  • Expect routine temperature checks using Thermo-Scan Cameras and the use of hand sanitizing stations.
  • All passengers exiting the country will be asked to answer a short symptom-screening questionnaire with RBC staff to ensure their well-being and the safety of others. Alternatively, passengers can complete a declaration form here, download the QR code, and present it upon arrival at the airport.
