Birdhouses
The 4 Birdhouses highlight the benefits of tiny house living with the goal of maximizing the efficiency of space while minimizing our impact on the environment. They consist of a cozy, comfortable lofted bed over a built-in bathroom underneath. The Birdhouses can accommodate couples and solo travelers. The bathroom offers a solar-heated rainfall shower on top of the teak shower floor. If desired, the bottom sliding door to the bathroom can be opened to be able to use the toilet with a view. The bathroom has been adorned with pine wood from Kibuye forests and the fixtures contain muvula wood accented with steel.
The Pods at UMVA Muhazi
The Pod features a front-facing view of the lake from both the bedroom and the bathroom. The units offer ample sleeping quarters, a private terrace, as well as an exceptional bathroom concept with views of Lake Muhazi, focused on optimizing the UMVA wellness experience. The lighting was researched and designed to complement the Rammed Earth and provide users with an immersive feeling of the natural surroundings.
Hand-crafted furniture employs materials including raw solid steel and local fine hardwoods. Walls are made of Rammed Earth, built directly on site. They are complemented with hand-made, fired white bricks from Huye. The deck is made from Muvula wood from the region, dried by the lake for 6 months. The shower provides an open, yet private view for its users.

The expansive Lake Muhazi is projected into a very comfortable and protected room space, through sweeping, floor-to-ceiling windows. The unit offers ample sleeping quarters, a dining table, a spacious terrace, as well as an exceptional bathroom concept, focused on optimizing the UMVA Muhazi wellness experience. All in all, there are about 750 square feet of carefully designed bungalow space.
