Rwanda Extends Gorilla Promotions till 31st December 2022. The recent announcement was made by Rwanda Development Board in a press release letter signed by Clare Kamazi –Chief Executive Officer showing commitment to continue and support the tourism private sector and encourage tourists to visit remarkable Rwanda. The letter in parts says “In a view to mitigating the impact of a covid-19 pandemic, the Rwanda Development Board (RDB) has reviews the current tourism incentives and booking regulations to support the tourism sector industry recovery. The following new incentives shall be applicable with immediate effect. (28. May 2021).
- Tourists who wish to postpone any type of tourist permit (low season permit, exclusive package permit, MICE incentive permit) due to COVID 19 related reasons, can postpone their bookings at no extra cost. (Subject to submission of official documentation) until 31st. December 2022. Such permit modification can be allowed twice within the mentioned period and the reschedule will be subject to permit availability. Any exception to this will still be handled case by case.
- Operators whose clients canceled will be offered future permit credit that might be used by another client.
- A COVID -19 related matter is the only acceptable reason for free reschedule. Other unforeseen circumstances will be handled case by case basis.
The extension of the tourism incentives is to support and encourage tourists to visit Rwanda from May 31st, 2021 to December 31st, 2022.
Additional incentives are for African foreign residents, a promotional rate of US$ 500.00 will be applied for mountain gorilla trekking up to 31st December 2022.
Tourists are advised to use the time to explore the unexplored of Rwanda, from the mountain ranges of the Volcanoes for mountain gorilla treks, golden monkey tours or simply hike the Bisoke Mountain plus visiting the most pristine Nyungwe forests popular for Chimpanzee treks in Rwanda and a hike to Isumo waterfalls or take part in the Canopy walk.
