Rwanda to Keep COVID Testing for Arriving Passengers
COVID testing for arriving passengers in Rwanda remains in place and is mandatory around this time. The healthy authorities recently announced that the mandatory 24 hours quarantine in a Kigali hotel has been removed and all passengers arriving in the country can continue with their journey to explore and discover the countryside of Rwanda without this mandatory stay. COVID testing for arriving passengers will stay in the meantime and this is done at Kigali International Airport at a fee payable directly by all passengers arriving, US$ 60.00 per person. It is mandatory that any passenger arriving in Rwanda must have a negative COVID-19 certificate. The only accepted test is a SARS-CoV 2 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) performed within 72 hours of departure (meaning travelers must be tested and get results within 3 days of their first flight). Other tests, such as Rapid Diagnostics Test (RDTs), are not accepted. COVID-19 Test is not mandatory for accompanied children under 5 years.
Note: All travelers departing from Rwanda must test negative for COVID-19. The only accepted test is a SARS-CoV 2 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) performed within 72 hours before departure. Other tests, such as Rapid Diagnostics Test (RDTs), are not accepted.
Travelers, seeking to track primates in Rwanda, are required to have a valid negative test not exceeding 24hrs and must present it at the park headquarters before the trekking happens.
