Updated Entry Requirements for Tourists traveling to Rwanda

Tourists traveling to Rwanda are required to keep adhere to the COVID -19 health measures that are put in place while visiting Rwanda. In the recent announcement by the government of Rwanda it highlights that:-

-All arriving passengers must present a negative rapid test taken within 72 hours prior to departure. An additional PCR test will be taken upon arrival, at your own cost.  This is at US$ 65.00 per person currently. BOOK NOW

-All Departing passengers at Kigali International Airport must present a negative rapid or PCR test. ( depending on the requirement at the destination country) taken within 72hrs prior to departure.  The cost of a departure test in Rwanda is US$ 50.00

-All tourists traveling to Rwanda must fill in a passenger locator form before departing from their county. Note: It is important to check and confirm that your country accepts a rapid test for you to depart out of that country.

-Another amendment from the previous restriction is the suspension of the mandatory night in a Kigali hotel for 24hours. Upon arrival, guests are free to continue with their onward journeys to different parts of the country to discover and enjoy their Rwanda safari.

Information Note for Passengers Departing from Rwanda.

  • Travelers should monitor for MVD symptoms, including fever, severe headaches, muscle aches, vomiting, and diarrhea, before departing from Rwanda and seek medical advice immediately if they experience these symptoms.
  • Expect routine temperature checks using Thermo-Scan Cameras and the use of hand sanitizing stations.
  • All passengers exiting the country will be asked to answer a short symptom-screening questionnaire with RBC staff to ensure their well-being and the safety of others. Alternatively, passengers can complete a declaration form here, download the QR code, and present it upon arrival at the airport.
