Updated Rwanda Travel Advice on COVID New Variant
Updated Rwanda travel advice released by authorities on the 28th November 2021. The recent measures in response to COVID-19 new variant, include the reinstatement of the obligatory 24-hour quarantine in designated hotels for all people arriving in Rwanda at their own cost.
In the updated Rwanda travel advice, the entry requirements include a negative PCR COVID-19 certificate. The only accepted test is a SARS-CoV 2 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) performed within 72 hours of departure (meaning travelers must be tested and get results within 3 days of their first flight). Other tests, such as Rapid Diagnostics Test (RDTs), are not accepted. BOOK NOW
In order to control the spread of the COVID -19 Omicron variant, Passengers traveling from countries with the highest risk of this variant are required to quarantine for 7 days at their own cost at designated hotels upon arrival in Rwanda. The countries include Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
The above list of countries will be updated upon assessment of global health conditions, in consultations with the relevant international institutions. The updated Rwanda travel advice highlights that all the other passengers are required to only one day at their own expense at a designated hotel. A PCR test will be conducted to every passenger arriving at their own cost and an additional (Second) COVID test to be conducted covered by the Rwanda government, will be administered at a designated testing center on day 7 (Seven) after arrival in Rwanda.

-Wearing masks properly at all times in public.
-Maintaining physical distances
-Washing and sanitizing of hands regularly
-Avoiding crowds, crowded places, and unnecessary social gatherings.
